The role

Reporting to the Senior Associate Solicitor in the Leasehold Enfranchisement Residential Department.

Supporting the Senior Associate Solicitor on residential property and enfranchisement/lease extensions matters, so as to provide an excellent and prompt service and advice to clients and other departments in the firm.

Work type:

  1. HNW Residential Property matters

  2. Leasehold management i.e. licences to alter and assign for landlords

  3. Enfranchisement i.e. lease extension claims (statutory and voluntary claims) and freehold enfranchisement claims


Client base and type of work

The Detail - So including:

  • Assisting with running the caseload

  • Admin – you may be asked to deal with the following:

    • File opening and closing

    • Filing

    • Fee earner/accounts postings

    • Collecting courier items and scanning the contents in before giving to the fee earner, as well as taking BACS/TT’s to accounts and ensuring the monies are sent

    • Verifying bank details and maintaining the bank details verified list

    • Scanning in the post and DX

  • Assisting:

    • Meeting clients to take their identification etc

    • Preparation of enfranchisement/lease extension notices

    • Preparation of leases

    • Uploading documents to document rooms




    • Compiling reports on title for residential property matters


    • Preparing SDLT forms


    • Post completion i.e. submitting stamp duty forms, AP1s etc


    • Drafting completion statements and statements of accounts as well as BACS and TT’s


    • Dealing with fee earner instructions from the credit control reports


    • Chasing lenders for funds and generally any other telephone calls to chase up matters where instructed to by the fee earner, including receipt of counter notices and s42 and s13 notices under the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993

    • Legal research

    • Anything that is not dictated in full such as drafting leases, notices etc

    • Precedent maintenance

    • Diary management

    • Supporting marketing/business development initiatives
