The role

We are seeking to recruit a paralegal with previous conveyancing experience to support and assist our Charging Team (part of the wider Housing and Local Government practice), dealing with all aspects of charging of security portfolios.

The main duties are as below but will include other tasks as required:

  • ordering title and other documents from the Land Registry

  • carrying out conveyancing searches

  • obtaining documents and confirmations from Local Authorities and other third parties including regular monitoring and chasing

  • liaising with the Land Registry

  • organising indemnity insurance policies

  • chasing for outstanding items on transactions

  • carrying out pre-completion searches and dealing with all post-completion matters including land registration

  • following progress and updating throughout



The team

The Housing and Local Government team at Winckworth Sherwood is a successful and well respected practice covering a wide range of activities and relevant to this role includes charging of large portfolios of freehold and leasehold properties for housing associations/registered providers. 

Candidate specification

This is a busy role and the candidate will need to have had previous conveyancing experience and be able to hit the ground running.
