  • As if that wasn’t enough, we are also involved in the transformation of Battersea Power Station and act for the majority of London’s major Housing Associations who together own assets of over £17.3 billion.

However it’s not all about big numbers and high-profile projects; the real success of our business comes from the ability of our teams to provide fantastic service and create long-lasting relationships.

The role

Our Real Estate team are looking for a solicitor (2-4 years PQE) to join their team.

You will be assisting and working alongside senior members of the team on exciting large scale mixed use regeneration projects and development opportunities for many of the country’s leading private developers (including Joint Venture opportunities)  together with smaller development and acquisition work.

Work will also include specific disposals such as PRS disposals, bulk sales to Registered Providers and Investment opportunities.  The work will be very commercial in nature and varied with great client exposure and a high degree of independence however there is structured and ongoing training and considerable senior support to ensure the individual develops both their career and skills.

We are looking for someone passionate about housing, development  and project work,  an individual who is able to work both unsupervised but also as part of a wider team.

The team

The Department currently has 11 Partners, 8 Senior Associates, 12 Associates, 5 solicitors, 3 Chartered Legal Executives, 3 Paralegals, 2 Trainees and 11 Legal Secretaries.

This structure, as well as our in depth understanding of the property market, enables us to provide a flexible approach to our clients’ requirements.  Partners, who have a specific brief and business plan themselves, maintain close involvement with the team but there is plenty of opportunity to take responsibility, to deal with clients directly and to continue to develop your skills and experience over a wide variety of challenging work.

Client base and type of work

The Department represents a significant part of our business and clients include Residential Developers and National House Builders, Investment Funds, Entrepreneurs and Housing Associations undertaking large high profile developments, urban regeneration projects and Joint Ventures.  The Department also undertakes commercial leasehold work. It also represents a number of local authorities and charities undertaking work in the sector.  It is a growing and important part of our practice base.  This involves a huge variety of challenging legal and contractual work.

As a firm we have acted as lawyers on major regeneration and development schemes in London and beyond for over 25 years and advise many of the leading residential and commercial developers in the UK.  Over the last few years, we’ve built teams around experts in planning, construction, tax, finance, investment funds, asset management, plot sales and property litigation.  We serve major real estate investment funds, private equity investors and commercial landlords as well as leading retail brand occupiers.

Aims of the department

To be the best in their field of expertise, commercially astute and to provide good value for money.
